The Bay Area Arabic School is a community based school that provides Arabic language instruction to children by teaching Arabic language literacy and conversation. The school's purpose is to educate students about Arabic language, culture and heritage, to promote the spirit of friendship among the students and their families, to build a positive and supportive community of students and families, and to offer separate, optional Islamic Religion instruction.

Instruction is offered on a weekly basis on Sundays during the academic year from September through May. Classes are available to any child who wishes to learn Arabic language and / or Islamic religion.

Classes are held in the Cubberley Community Center in Palo Alto.

The Bay Area Arabic School is pleased to announce the availability of Arabic Music Classes on Sundays at the Cubberley Community Center in Palo Alto. These classes are in collaboration with Zawaya and are scheduled from 1-3 pm from Sept 25 - Dec 18 2011. Please see the BAAS schedule for specific dates.

Zawaya is dedicated to preserving, promoting and presenting Arab American's cultural heritage through music and art. Through this collaboration with the Bay Area Arabic School Zaways is enabling music classes via the Aswat Youth Music Ensemble.

This program is now available and open for registration. Students ages 6-18 are welcome to participate in these fun sessions that are a blend of singing, instrumental and percussion instruction. The music program cost is $240 for the session running Sept 25 - Dec 18 2011 and is run by Zawaya. Please contact zawaya.admin@gmail.com to register.
